Do you want to know what it is like volunteering with us?

Let’s hear directly from them:

Butterfly Reading Classes

Become a Butterfly Practitioner! Our Butterfly Saturday Reading Classes have over 400 eager children keen to improve their reading and spelling, as a foundation for educational attainment and success in life.

Our flagship Butterfly classes are currently held at a primary school near Portobello Road, London W10.

Would you like to help teach them voluntarily on Saturday mornings?

VOLUNTEER STORIES

"The Butterfly lessons are well structured, and the teachers are firm but fair, which enables discipline and focus in the class. I enjoy seeing the children progress, and it warms my heart".

Real Action’s work is only made possible through the time, skills and dedication of our volunteers. Their input makes a real difference to the literacy and lives of the children and adults who study with us, and contributes to the good of the wider community.

Whether you are an IT, finance, legal, accountancy, marketing, event management, media, or creative professional, or work in another field, you may have a very valuable contribution to make. We welcome volunteers and interns, so if you see an opportunity to use your talent and experience to further Real Action’s cause, we would very much like to hear from you.

I am from Lithuania and joined Real Action in 2015 as a volunteer finance assistant. I am happy to volunteer for Real Action as I can improve my financial skills and gain such an amazing experience. The fact that the charitable work we do is also beneficial for children, makes me even happier.
