Volunteer with Real Action!
Real Action’s work is only made possible through the time, skills and dedication of our volunteers. Their input makes a real difference to the literacy and lives of the children and adults who study with us, and contributes to the good of the wider community.
We are a community-led charity, based in Queen’s Park W10. We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers and interns. Read on to find out more about our what we do and how you can get involved.
Our three Butterfly Saturday Reading Schools have over 250 eager children keen to improve their reading and spelling, as a foundation for educational attainment and success in life.
Our current Butterfly Schools are at Queen’s Park Primary School, Rugby Portobello Trust, and Colville Primary School.
Would you like to help teach them voluntarily on Saturday mornings?
Training and CRB Check
Our volunteer teachers receive training in the relevant course material and teaching method before going into the classroom. Contact us to find out more about the training and the necessary CRB check.
We are also always interested in talking with people who have specific professional skills which could support Real Action in achieving its goals.
Whether you are an IT, finance, legal, accountancy, marketing, event management, media, or creative professional, or work in another field, you may have a very valuable contribution to make. We welcome volunteers and interns, so if you see an opportunity to use your talent and experience to further Real Action’s cause, we would very much like to hear from you.
